Though my office is not a call center, we do often receive calls from our customers requesting service. And I swear, every single customer who calls my coworker K is belittled within an inch of never wanting to do business with us again. She asks them questions in technical terms in a condescending tone that they have no hopes of understanding, and then gets really bitchy with them when they don't understand. She usually refuses to answer of their questions (so she won't have to bear the responsibility of telling them something incorrect).
When she finally belittles them off the phone, she insists on reiterating the entire conversation she had with them to everyone within earshot. Which, since she practically yells every word that comes out of her mouth, is everyone in the department. And dog help you if you don't respond and commiserate with her about how painfully stupid/rude/unaccommodating (hello, THEY'RE the customers, WE are supposed to help THEM) the customer was, then she gets pissy and stalks around the office with a martyr complex for the rest of the week.
But one facet of this woman's intolerableness.
